Original longboard trucks will cut a turn tighter than anything else on the market.
Part of what gives them their insane turning radius is the huge amount of board lean our longboard trucks generate. This board lean allows your weight to stay centered over the board even then you are carving your hardest.
The negative side effect of board lean is wheel bite.
Wheel bite occurs when your trucks lean over so far that your wheels touch the bottom of your longboard skateboard deck, causing friction and probably a quick trip over the nose of your longboard onto the pavement.
Find out which Original longboard trucks will fit on which boards without getting wheel bit.

Each time you take your longboard skateboard, or any skateboard for that matter, out you should always run through a check list in your head to make sure you are riding on equipment that is safe to be ridden. This is particularly important for those who are new to longboards and may not be able to feel the changes in the way a longboard rides when it needs a little love.

No matter what longboard, skateboard complete, or truck, size or shape you buy, odds are, you are going to need to adjust your trucks, straight out of the box.
In addition it is a good idea to readjust your trucks every 3 or four riding sessions, for safety reasons, to make sure you aren't going to loose your kingpin nut. You should have your trucks on your board before you start this tutorial. |

Every so often a bit of dust or grime can get itself into the bushing housing of your trucks. When this happens, every so often, that particle can scratch either the bushing, or the actual metal of the bushing casing.
This sometimes causes squeeking, particularly for those of us who like to pump to generate speed.
The fix takes about 10-15 minutes depending on how familiar you are with taking your trucks apart. |

Truck maintenance is a great habit, your board/trucks will ride smoother and last longer.
If your trucks feel a little sloppy, or not as smooth as they used to, odds are you need new bushings. Bushings are readily available through our online store and are quick to put in.
This tutorial takes you through the bushing replacement and re-lubrication process. Once you have done this once or twice it only takes about 5 minutes to pop in a new set of bushings and re-lube your truck. |
