The Terrapin is one of the widest decks available on the market today. While normally a longboard with such a wide deck would get wheelbite, the Terrapin uses full length cut-away wheelwell routing to keep your wheels in the clear. Since the wheelwells run the full length of the board, the material removed makes the Terrapin one of the lightest decks in our lineup.
Engineered flex.
By removing material in specific locations we increase the flex of the Terrapin under the rider's rear foot. This increase pumping ability and helps the Terrapin generate an absolute ton of speed through the slow spots in your favorite run. Your deck should flex in the spots you need it, not the spots you don't. Ride the Terrapin and see the difference engineered flex can make to your on-land cutbacks.
Swallow tail.
Other boards may be wide, but the Terrapin carries it's full width nose to tail giving you the maximum effective riding platform. That width is particularly important to the Terrapin's tail. Designed to bring the feel of a classic twin-fin surfboard to the street, the tailblock of the Terrapin allows you to get your weight off the nose for drastically improved performance (when compared to a traditional longboard) on the steep transitions of your local ditches or banks.
Surf skate performance.
The Terrapin takes agressive surfing simulation to the next level. The wide flexible platform combined with the quickness, control and speed generation abilities of Original trucks make this longboard an ideal substitute for rideable surf. Don't let those mid summer, Bermuda (or otherwise) high pressure systems get you down, get a Terrapin and stay sharp for hurricane season.
